Browsing the FuelPHP website, I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanness and minimalism of the design compared to many other frameworks. The contrast between black, white, grey, and purple creates a distinctively fresh look.
However, one thing that makes reading hard on the eyes, is the lightness of the text. As it is a lighter shade of grey, it stands out less against the light grey background. The reader has to stare harder to make out out the text; there is less of a contrast between the background and the text. Compare this to some other websites, e.g. http://apple.com, which is black on white (although less important text is grey on white), http://codeigniter.com, which is dark grey on white, or http://37signals.com/svn, again dark grey on white. My suggestion is that you increase the darkness of the grey text significantly, or make is black. The documentation, by comparison, it much easier to read than the main site and forums.
