  • I think FuelPHP is great but I think its suffering massively due to its community, the community is very small at the moment and hardy any interactions can be seen in the forums compared to other web frameworks, and tools out there on the internet. A Major Overhaul of FuelPHP community tools is needed to help improve the community, and FuelPHP as well online... Anyone else agree with what I've said?
  • No. You can debate over the quality of the forum software, but that is not relevant to your statement. Developers are present on these forums on a daily basis, and there is always one available in your IRC channel. And so are lots of other people, some of them already quite proficient in using FuelPHP. A community is something that has to grow, and is not going to happen overnight. You can not compare us to an established framework. Having said that, the number of people on for example the CodeIgniter forums that actually answer is very low, certainly compared to the number of forum members.

I think its contributes, being a web developer myself I find it irritating and annoying visiting sites that have poor UX and UI. Sometimes this can be a major factor in whether I use a service or stay on a site and currently I do think FuelPHP's forum is very poor. For example there is no system for navigating back and forth between pages other than the Back and Forward button. Sharing code on the forums is almsot impossible in a friendly manner. All comparing is the quality of forum and services to others, you might notice I didn't say any for that reason. Every community I've seen has different features that make them different to their competitors. But if you don't think my opinion is valid then far enough I'll leave it at that...
  • I think we can all agree that the forum features leave a lot to be desired.
As said, it's a known issue, and on our todo list. For sharing code, I don't believe the forum is the correct place to do so. Only use it for small snippets to support your question or reply. For other code, use our pastebin, http://scrapyrd.com (written in FuelPHP).
