Hi,
I'm wondering if someone of this community is already creating (or maybe has created a forum Module/Package/Application)?
I know this might maybe sound selfish at my part, but if I had the skills i would have made it months ago
I would be able to make some basic application but the code wouldn't be optimal nor do i really know how to work with modules.
Or if someone could maybe show me the direction to make one? I mean should it be a module? or maybe a package?
how about security?
I just need some tips to get started
Kind regards
Not that I know of.
I've made one for my CMS in the past, and it's an awful lot of work to make a decent one. Or are you looking for something very basic, like this one?
well, this forum is very simple. Forums, one access group per forum, topics per forum, simple reply on a topic, end of story.
If you look at other forums, you will see a lot more functionality, like granular access, moderator functions, better parsing, extensive reply and quote options, attachment management, etc.
This one is written in CI (it's a PyroCMS module), I don't know it it's public, but if so, it might not be to difficult to port.
Well that module doesnt seem to be free.
I do understand however that people would like some contribution on what they created.
So I guess I should try and create something although the code will be messy!
I'm not sure when it will be done but I do hope someone will be able to help me out and clean this thing.
