for those of you like me that need ldap authentication in a application. I have created a ldap package from https://github.com/axelitus/fuel-core/commit/b8b35c7dfbe6875d92b87b258a926460c8bf3e54 . Which you can check out and fork from here https://github.com/moos3/fuel-ldap . I'm currently working on a auth_ldap driver for Auth_Login_Driver. If anyone wants to lend a hand be my guest to fork and commit and request a pull request. Thanks Moose.
