a beginner' worries about emigration to fuel
  • hi everybody
first of all, i apologize about my english level
i'm used CI at least 3 years and build a cms using it
because of CI lacks like ORM i decided to emigration to another framework and porting my cms to new framework
i tests some other frameworks like yii, cake, symfony, etc
    and finally found fuel
after i made some tests on fuel, i really impressed by its flexibility and amazing overall design
now i think fuel has all features that i need
but i worried about starting my project using fuel because: 1- i don't sure fuel project continues like other famous frameworks
i have a experience of using project that completely stopped
another reason of this worry is some part of fuel's doc like ACL not been written since i found fuel (about one month) 2- i read some texts against fuel's performance and using namespaces in fuel
in both subjects (performance and namespaces) i don't sure who is right?
if i see some working applications uses fuel maybe i could sure
the question is: is fuel able to build large application with acceptable performance?
the main reason that gives me these worries is my developers team have only one member, it's me, and porting my cms to another framework like fuel will waste my time, at least for next month
in this situation, i worried about this: maybe i start porting my cms to fuel and then i would forced to emigrate from fuel to another third framework thank you so much for your patience and probable helps
  • As for 1: you are right, nobody knows what will happened
As for 2: you are right too, i made more tests on fuel, actually fuel is fastest framework i work with.
thanks a lot for great code
  • there's no idea?
  • As for 1: the future will tell. Unfortunaltely, I don't have my cristal ball on me now... As for 2: I personally have only comparison material between CI/DMZ and Fuel, as I have converted some apps. And I can say that Fuel is both faster and uses less memory to produce the same result. And it's a heck of a lot faster when developing...
