RE: Email class has been removed from the core
  • Since I can't post to the sticky thread, I'd better ask here: is there an email package back in core?
  • It's not part of the core, but it's a separate package: http://github.com/fuel/email

So does "not being part of the core" mean that it won't be in the official zip download link that will be found on the front of the site? Or is that about being in a distribution? Just trying to understand what "not core" actually means.

The folder named core in your fuelphp installation: http://github.com/fuel/core
  • Oh I see. The 1.1 RC1 archive that is available for download has an empty "email" folder in the packages folder, and I just assumed that the sticky post referred to the package that *was* in the email folder but had been stripped out due to licensing issues. I misunderstood that.
  • That's a mistake. For some reason the git submodule wasn't processed, and email package wasn't included in the zip. We'll pay attention to this for the next releases...
