Why Fuels is not usnig current K3.x routing ?
  • I just wonder why Fuel is using CI (K2.x) routing instead of K3.x? Why you don't like K3.x routing ? You took many cool ideas from Kohana - why K3.x routing is not one of them?
  • FuelPHP is using neither. It uses FuelPHP routing. If you want to discuss missing functionality, please do so, and we can see what we can do.

No, it's not about missing functionality. I just wonder what flaws you found in K3.x routing that made you go on with your own. And your're right, my bad - I looked again at docs for routing and indeed, it it not simple port of K2.3/CI. But still, I just wonder what you don't like in K3.x routing system :)
  • FuelPHP is not a Kohana clone. We simply used a bit of logic from them in the first couple of months, but all of that is slowly disappearing. The biggest chunk of Kohana code that is still present is the database layer, and that is going to be replaced in 2.0 because it simply doesn't do the job. Our routing system works different because we have different requirements, our Request/Response system works differently, HMVC is implemented differently, etc.
  • Thanks for clearing this up.
